Do you want more abundance in your life?
Only a few people would say no to this question. A lot of us do want more abundance in our lives. But wait. Let’s make some distinctions in our terms first. According to my life coach and Reiki master, Ms. Catherine Walters of http://www.GuidedChange.com, “abundance” is being rich in money; “prosperity” is being rich in other areas of life like talents, time, ideas, and other resources; “affluence” is true wealth, a combination of abundance and prosperity. In other words: [affluence = abundance + prosperity]. With those in mind, let’s now forget those distinctions. I’m sure the Divine Spirit wouldn’t quibble and hair-split like us anyway. When the Divine Spirit pours forth its blessings onto our open arms, we’ll be amazed at the range of what those blessings encompass. It could be so overwhelming that you could become emotional – in a good way.
Again, if we want more abundance in our lives, of course the most logical thing to do is to work hard for it. I urge you to thank God/Goddess for your respective jobs every day. Saint Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274) penned a blessing about this: “Give us, O Lord, thankful hearts which never forget Your goodness to us. Give us, O Lord, grateful hearts, which do not waste time complaining.” (Byers, B. & Torsella, J. “Book of Blessings: 52 Graces From Around the World.” PA: Running Press, 2001; available at Angel Light Books in Berkeley, CA.) Besides, I know that there’s a part of you that already knows intuitively that when you are thankful, more blessings abound in your life whereas when you complain, you stop the flow of abundance somehow.
Aside from working hard, how else can we attract more abundance into our lives? I’ll share a ritual with you. It was Ms. Catherine again who told me to Google “abundance checks” and I suggest that you do your own search, too. Apparently, the exact roots of this practice have been lost in history but you’ll find many websites that spell out instructions and even a sample of an abundance check that you can print out.
What is an abundance check? Basically, this piece of paper functions like a regular bank-issued check does, but you issue it to yourself during the period of the New Moon every month. The principle behind filling it out is the Law of Attraction. This Law, simply put, means that since “like attracts like,” if you think positive thoughts, you attract positive experiences, while negative thoughts attract negative experiences. The upcoming New Moon in Gemini, which we will have on the West Coast on June 16 (Tue.) at 7:05 am PDT, means that from this day and hour until 24 hours later is the ideal time to write out your abundance check to yourself. Why do we write out our check during the New Moon? It is said that the New (or dark) Moon is the genesis of the waxing phase, full of potential and the promise of fullness later on, and is thus very ideal for setting intentions. “When you write these checks, you are aligning your intention with the universe, signaling that you are ready and willing to receive. Doing this every month simply re-affirms that intention (www.RolandBerard.com).” If you can’t download and print the abundance check forms, then use your creativity to craft your own abundance checks.
“9 Steps to writing your New Moon Abundance Check (Adapted from http://www.newmooncheck.com by DaKara Kies & Journeys Into Wholeness):
1.) Within 24 hours after a New Moon, take a check from your check book (or print out the Abundance checks that DaKara created). Find out the New Moon dates every month. Where it says “Pay to,” write your name.
2.) In the little box on the same line where you would fill in a dollar amount write “Paid in full.”
3.) On the line underneath your name, where you would write out a dollar amount, write “Paid in full.”
4.) Sign the check: “The Law of Abundance.” Under the signature line, write “Thank You.” (I write Thank You on all the checks I write, on the Abundance checks it’s already there for you!!!)
5.) Leave the date blank (or you can date it with a specific date that you “believe” this amount will come to you).
6.) Many times we have beliefs within our subconscious mind that thinks we don’t deserve something. You can leave the specific amount open or to try this out, use a dollar amount you are comfortable receiving… perhaps $500 (who couldn’t use an extra $500 in the next couple of weeks?)
7.) To add some fun and playful energy, sing a song while holding the vision of the item or funds flowing to you easily and gracefully! Here is a fun lil ditty I wrote to the tune of “Row Row Row Your Boat”: Flow, flow, flow your way,/visioning the dream,/happily, happily, happily now,/success is guaranteed! ©
8.) Put it in a safe place and forget about it. The Universe will take it from there. (Get out of the HOW)
9.) NEW!!! Sign your name to the back of your new moon check! As if you are preparing it for deposit to the Universal Bank of Manifesting!!!
Later (after 2 weeks or longer) you can burn (or tear it up and flush it down the toilet if fire is not an option) the check on one of the upcoming full moons, expressing Gratitude for receiving abundance in your life while the check is burning. Many people are skeptical about trying this until they do it. After the first time they realize the power of these checks and do them routinely every month!”
I tried writing a New Moon abundance check last May 17, during the New Moon in Taurus. I followed the 9 steps to the letter. Guess what? Not only did unexpected financial abundance flow toward me, but also prosperity in terms of creative ideas, love, new studies and knowledge, recognition, positive healthy lifestyle changes – oh, the list goes on, and that was just upon the first time I tried it. You bet I’m going to write another abundance check during the New Moon in Gemini on June 16 just to see how it goes. I suggest that you try this for at least 3 months before you say that it’s not for you. Oh, I’m sure that you and I are going to have so much fun! Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with more from the “Book of Blessings” by Byers and Torsella. This is a Kikuyu blessing from Kenya: “O my Father, Great Elder, I have no words to thank you, but with your deep wisdom I am sure that you can see how I value your glorious gifts. Ruler of all things earthly and heavenly, I am your warrior, ready to act in accordance with your will.” Now this one: “May we be a channel of blessings for all that we meet.” (Edgar Cayce, clairvoyant, 1877-1945). May God and Goddess bless our thankful hearts!
