Cimidye

Card of the day: CIMIDYE – Goddess of Vengeance

Suffering. Transcendence. Transformation. Your difficulties transform you. Take heart, for you will be vindicated.

Cimidye is a Tucuna Indian goddess of the Amazon. Her story is one of vengeance and transcendence. After she was deserted by her cruel husband in the deep forest, she encountered a spirit guide in the form of a large blue butterfly. Dragonflies are potent symbols of illusion and impermanence. In Zuni mythology, they are numinous shamanic creatures who act as intermediaries between the spiritual and physical worlds.

The dragonfly took pity upon Cimidye and magically transformed her into a dragonfly. They were able to take revenge upon her husband, thus freeing Cimidye from her marital vows.

In the midst of your own suffering and pain, know in your heart that these will change you for the better. If you feel that you have been the victim of unfairness or injustice, then know that you will eventually be vindicated.

“It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.” – Deuteronomy 32:35, NIV

Pajau Yan

PAJAU YAN-Lady Moon

Luck. Health. Changes. No matter what changes may come, you will be at peace.

Pajau Yan is invoked as Lady Moon in Vietnam. She is a benevolent goddess who bestows good health and good fortune among her worshipers. Usually honored on the first day of the waning moon, Pajau Yan is believed to cause lunar eclipses as her way of granting glory to the sun.

According to the story, Pajau Yan used to live on the earth. However, to keep her from bringing the dead back to.life, she was banished to the moon. This suggests that some situations cannot be changed so you just have to make peace with them. Nevertheless, the goddess can still spread goodwill from her celestial home. Similarly, once you adjust to a situation, you have the power to spread love and blessings to all.

Kuan Yin + Isis oracle pulls

Today’s random pulls from my Kuan Yin Oracle & Isis Oracle, both by Alana Fairchild:

(L) Kuan Yin/Bamboo Moon card: This is all about Divine Timing. Sometimes you feel that “nothing” is happening in your life, your plans go awry, your best intentions fall flat. But listen: consider Divine Timing and the bamboo tree. It takes 5 years for its roots to ground so you see nothing much happening immediately after it is planted. But once it is its time to grow, the bamboo flourishes in great height and foliage in all its serene, majestic glory. When it is time, it will be time. Until then, be at peace, dear one.

(R) Isis/Serpent of Fire: Priestess of the Serpent Sisterhood card: This is all about awakening your Kundalini energy, or that raw, sexual/life-force energy from the base of your spine. Kundalini rises up to animate the rest of our bodymindspiritheart so that we can be creative and selfless in acting for the highest good of all. Let Isis help you harness this energy for your highest good. Om Mani Padme Hum.

Taken together, these 2 “random” card pulls today are saying simply this: The Divine Timing for raising your vibration/Kundalini energy is NOW. What are you waiting for?

She and He who have ears, let them hear. And act upon such promptings from the Universe.

You are blessed in order to be a blessing.

Pele

Card of the day: PELE – Goddess of Fire

Volcanoes. Passion. Anger. Be empowered by anger.

(Deck: “Goddess Inspiration Oracle” by Kris Waldherr, Llewellyn Worldwide, 2007)

Pele, goddess of fire among the Hawaiians, has the ability to create as well as to destroy. Known for her tempestuous temper and passionate love affairs, she can appear as a beautiful maiden or as an ugly hag with brown skin as coarse as lava. Whatever form Pele assumes, what stands out is the power of her anger.

We tend to immediately brand all anger as negative. However, righteous anger, the kind that arises in response to real social injustices and inequities, can be an exception. Also, if you are angry enough about an issue or situation that you are galvanized into positive action in order to change it, then that anger can be transformative.

Learn to vent your anger in healthy, productive ways but do not automatically dismiss it out of hand. Trace its roots of your anger and try to “analyze” the anger if it has merit. I know it may be difficult to be objective once eruptive feelings are already a-brewing, but your anger can still serve a constructive purpose. Primum non nocere (First do no harm.)

Demeter

Card of the day: DEMETER – The Mother

The seasons. Motherhood. Loss. Honor the divinity of your grief. Then spring will return.

(Deck: “Goddess Inspiration Oracle” by Kris Waldherr, Llewellyn Worldwide, 2007)

Demeter, Greek goddess of the harvest, is considered the mother archetype of the triple goddess consisting of maiden, mother, and crone. Her story explains the seasons and offers solace through the ages to mothers everywhere who are dealing with loss.

When Demeter’s daughter Persephone was abducted by Hades, god of the underworld, to become his bride, Demeter became inconsolable. She searched far and wide towards the ends of the earth for Persephone. When Demeter learned that Zeus allowed Hades to wed her daughter, grief and fury overcame the harvest goddess. So that the earth may reflect her mourning, Demeter put a halt to the flowering and ripening of plants, thus creating winter for the first time. A main ritual associated with Demeter, the Thesmophoria, allows women to work through pain and honor their grief, recognizing its goddess-like divinity.

Indeed, whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Pain and grief make you part of the human experience. Of course no one can quantify how much pain you are going through on account of your loss and suffering, but I believe that we need even these experiences to toughen our spine and put steel to our resolve. Just hang in there: honor your grief and then spring will return!

“Be patient and tough; someday this pain will be useful to you.” – Ovid, 43 BC

Persephone

Card of the day: PERSEPHONE – The Maiden

The seasons. Sexuality. Innocence. Find ways to use your innocence as a strength.

(Deck: “Goddess Inspiration Oracle” by Kris Waldherr, Llewellyn Worldwide, 2007.)

Persephone is the maiden aspect of the “triple goddess” – maiden, mother, crone. The Greeks hailed her as the queen of the underworld. The daughter of harvest goddess Demeter, Persephone was abducted by Hades, god of the underworld, and she refused to give up her innocence, also refusing to eat or drink while in Hel. However, time passed and in her hunger, she was enticed to eat six seeds of pomegranate.

This signaled the loss of her innocence and six months of separation from her mother. During the 3 months that she is allowed to come to the surface, we have Spring because Demeter rejoices in having her daughter with her and thus allows things to bloom. On the other hand, when Persephone is in the underworld, we have Winter as Demeter mourns.

In your own transformational journey from innocent ingenue to Queen of your realm, you will surely be able to pinpoint several rites of passage or turning points that changed your life forever. Instead of mourning the loss of your innocence in exchange for hard-won wisdom, learn to celebrate your being able to move on and grow. However, learn to touch base with that basic innocence within you, untrammeled by disillusion and weariness, so that you can still look at the world with fresh eyes. Your innocence is your strength.

“Let us approach it normally, happily, willing to accept, glad to experiment, hoping and believing that as a result of our efforts we shall each derive a great good.”
– Ernest Holmes, “The Science of Mind,” p. 75

Tara

Card of the day: TARA – Goddess of Intervention

Compassion. Wish fulfillment. Assistance. Your wish can be granted if you ask for help.

(Deck: “Goddess Inspiration Oracle” by Kris Waldherr, 2007)

Tibetan Buddhists believe that the goddess Tara has the power to grant wishes and banish sorrows. You may recall Green Tara who grants wishes to her devotees and White Tara who is known for her great compassion. Either way, Tara achieved her immortality and her dream of being the first female buddha by praying for the welfare of humans for 10,000 years.

It is true: your wish can be granted if you ask for assistance, especially from Divine Spirit. Personally, I hold it equally true that if you pray for the welfare of others, then not only does it “speed up” the fulfillment of your prayers for the highest good of all, but it also raises up or edifies your spirit. So please pray not only for yourself, but pray for others as well.

“…Pray for each other so that you may be healed.” -James 5:16, NIV

Kali Ma

Card of the day: KALI MA – The Dark Mother

Destruction. Construction. Renewal. Allow the old to pass. Something better awaits.

(Deck: “Goddess Inspiration Oracle” by Kris Waldherr, 2007)

Widely worshiped in India, Kali Ma is a powerful Hindu goddess representing time, which destroys everything. She is often feared, but she is necessary to life. Life cannot exist without death, because with death comes the chance to transform the old into the new. Kali Ma is also invoked for protection against disease and destruction.

The goddess is terrifying in appearance: black in form, wearing a necklace of human skulls and sporting a belt of human arms. When you fear change, you project this fear unto others, seeing in them frightening visages instead of facing your own demons. When you embrace the energy of Kali, she offers the opportunity for tremendous expansion and radical self-acceptance.

Athena

Card of the day: ATHENA- Goddess of Wisdom

Brilliance. Reason. Independence. Be independent. Listen to the wisdom within yourself.

(Deck: “Goddess Inspiration Oracle” by Kris Waldherr, 2007)

Athena, the daughter of Greek god Zeus and God first wife Metis, was born fully clothed and fully armor-clad, emerging from her father’s head. Such unusual circumstance of birth primed Athena for her devotion to wisdom and art. She managed to avoid the romantic intrigues of the gods and goddesses. Although she is associated with war, she used her reason over force to outwit her enemies. She is also an artisan.

Her primary physical attribute are her bright grey eyes which suggest clarity of purpose. Just as Athena was borne of Zeus’ head, so must we all hold wisdom in our brains. Athena encourages us to think for ourselves independently.

Mercury retrograde 2019

Making the Most of Every Mercury Retrograde Moment by Blesilda C. De La Rosa

Note: In 2019, Mercury goes retrograde during March 5-28, July 7-31, and October 31-November 20.

Why don’t we make a list of what you CAN do during the periods when Mercury is retrograde? The way some experts put it, with all those lists of “don’ts” – don’t buy electronics, don’t sign contracts, don’t start any important ventures, et cetera – you would think you’d have to bury your head in the sand! But since life goes on, Mercury retrograde or not, what can you do to make the most of every Mercury retrograde moment?

You know, it’s easy enough to remember these RE – words:

1. Reconsider your plans.
Since Mercury rules transportation, communication, electronics, and contracts, then maybe you should schedule your agenda during this period. This may mean anything from re-scheduling canceled appointments to postponing the purchase of electronic equipment like phones or computers. Use this time to reboot and refresh your projects.

2. Relax, reflect, and receive.
It’s not healthy to be on forward motion all the time. The universe gives you these 3-week periods three times a year so you can slow down, meditate, and learn more about yourself. If the rest of the year finds you on the giving end in terms of the actions you take, then a Mercury retrograde period puts you on the receiving end, for a change. Download all that insight and reflection so you can be a better person.

3. Remove the trash.
Clear out clutter and physical trash – but more importantly, cut out toxic habits, relationships, and ingrained tendencies toward worry and anxiety.

4. Remember your lessons in love, work, or money from the past. Repeat the steps that worked successfully and gently bid adieu to schemes that didn’t. Mercury retrograde periods are notorious for being the setting for returning karmic connections. If you have done your homework and taken out the trash, then you won’t be blindsided by nostalgia.

Remember your past triumphs so that going forward, you are ready to level up in applying the beneficial lessons in your brilliant life!
