Stargazer Bles

I’m putting myself out there. Let Divine Spirit and the Universe find me. So once more, with feeling:

Stargazer Bles is about empowerment and compassion.

Angel readings, oracle readings, crystal therapy, Reiki (all of which I offer) or any other healing modality are just self-reminders of our inherent capacity to balance ourselves and solve our “problems.”

Even so-called problems, as we know, could from another perspective also be avenues for bodymindheartspirit growth and enlightenment.

But wait, here’s the thing: we are already enlightened! Our Mission, then, is to awaken the rest of our human and sentient family towards luminous love, sustainability, and selfless compassion.

“Compassion is the radicalism of our time.” – His Holiness, The Dalai Lama

“We are the love of creation.” – Kuan Yin

So help me God.

Gwenhywfar of Wales

Card of the day: GWENHYWFAR- First Lady of Wales

Leadership. Wisdom. Water. You are a wise ruler of your realm.

(Deck: “Goddess Inspiration Oracle” by Kris Waldherr, 2007)

Gwenhywfar is honored as the first lady of the Welsh islands and seas. A mermaid goddess, Gwenhywfar is known in Germany as Cunneware, meaning “female wisdom.” However, in medieval legends, she is also known as Guinevere, the unhappy queen of King Arthur.

Nevertheless, she is the symbol of power in Wales, so successive would-be kings were always attempting to abduct her. Actually, though, it is Gwenhywfar’s power which is the real source of influence within the kingdom, not some forced romantic union.

Gwenhywfar is saying to you today: You are a wise ruler of your realm. Your previous knowledge and life experiences have prepared you for this moment, this majesty, this self-mastery. You’ve got this, dear one, or if you don’t, then you’re certainly already on your way!

Special tip: How do you change an oracle-card message into a personal affirmation? For example, here the card says: “You are a wise ruler of your realm.” Just change the pronouns to first-person: “I am a wise ruler of MY realm.”

“Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness.” – Oprah Winfrey

Re: my “forecast”

Hello, Stargazer Bles denizens! As I write this, It’s May 15th, the Feast Day of St. Dymphna, patron saint of those with mental and emotional illnesses. That’s beside the point, of course, and right now I am possessed of a sound mind as I make my next statements.

You’ve read what Resti has to say, which is basically framed in the language of Astrology, which in turn is basically a study of patterns and cycles. Now let’s look at what the languages of the Tarot and the Archangels have to say about where the Philippines is headed.

The format of the 4-card Tarot spread is Past-Present-Future-Synthesis/Summary. Therefore, from L-R, I drew the following: Ace of Cups (past) – Knight of Swords (present) – X Pentacles (future) – The Lovers (synthesis/summary). Please see the photo below.

The Ace of Cups (cups=water=spirit, blessings) in the past position indicates the dynamic of abundance v. loss. True enough, the Philippines is rich in human and natural resources yet it has also weathered a lot of losses, be they nature-caused or man-made.

The Knight of Swords (swords=fire=passion, creativity) in the present position shows the dynamic of constancy v. “moodiness.” As a people, we are prodigiously tenacious in upholding family values yet surprisingly “easily swayed” by passing fads, fancies, and personalities. Could the results of the recently concluded elections be proof of this?

In spite of this, the X of Pentacles (pentacles=earth=money, resources) in the future position presages prosperity for the country. Divine Spirit still looks after its people faithfully, supplying their needs according to its riches and glory. So yes, there is still hope for the Philippines materially, but who is not to say it is time for hope spiritually as well?

The synthesis/summary card turned out to be the Major Arcana card, The Lovers – The Gemini card. This resonates synchronistically with the Gemini birth of the first Philippine republic on June 12, 1898. On the most mundane level, I see a “traditional” couple – a man and a woman – who.shall rule the Philippines wisely, equitably, and reliably in the near future.

Metaphysically, The Lovers card could indicate the union of the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine in each of us, attaining for our nation the unity of opposites that a truly measured and sagacious rule requires. Remember the Babaylans, our local medicine folk-shamans? In effect, we will rule our individual selves effectively so we can rule others peaceably in our respective spheres of influence. What may seem like idealism now may very well be the reality of the future.

Finally, from the Archangels, we are also blessed to have the guidance of Gabriel, Haniel, and Ariel.
>Archangel Gabriel- Leadership- “It is time for you to assume your leadership power and position, and lovingly guide others.”
>Archangel Haniel- Passion- “Trust and follow your renewed passion in your love life and career.”
>Archangel Ariel- Spread Your Wings! – “Do not hold back right now. The timing is perfect, and you are ready to soar!”

“Whoever has ears, let them hear.” – Matthew 11:15, NIV

Card of the day: SEKHMET – The Mighty One

Enchantment. Strength. The Underworld. Let your darker emotions bring you strength.

(Deck: “Goddess Inspiration Oracle” by Kris Waldherr, 2007)

Sekhmet is the Goddess of the Underworld and is considered the patroness of mummification. Egyptians see this embalming process as a magical ritual that enabled the body to live forever. Sekhmet is often portrayed as carrying an ankh, a vibrant symbol of eternal life.

Sekhmet, called The Mighty One in Egypt, is also often depicted as a lion-headed woman who delights in war, violence, and enchantment – surely forceful energies used to deploy change in the world.

Similarly, you and I have dark emotions shading our hearts. Are you afraid of them? Or do you choose to use these emotions to give you strength in facing the challenges before you?

In your infinite godlike wisdom, you know that the power of anger and rage can either motivate you into action or drag you to destruction. Henceforth, cultivate the kind of RIGHTEOUS anger or rage that makes you want to actively do something with strength to help alleviate the injustice done towards yourself, your family member or friend, the environment, and the world.

“My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall give understanding. I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will disclose my dark saying on the harp.” – Psalm 49:3-4, NKJV

My mother AIDA CARMONA: the film & TV actress, remembrances of sequences past

My mother, who passed away in October 2016, was the Filipina-American film and television actress AIDA (RAGASA) CARMONA – most widely known in the entire Philippine archipelago as “Aling Atang” (Elder Lady Atang) in the 1980s soap, “Flordeluna” starring Janice De Belen.

Aida Carmona was born a Pisces with her Moon in Aries and Leo Rising. I, her eldest daughter on the other hand, had flipped the script when I was born with my Aries Sun and Pisces Moon. Mother and daughter have that Leo Ascendant in common, though, so you’re right in expecting that mother and daughter have this love for theater… and maybe emotional theatrics (grin). The Pisces element made Mom and me enamored with film and acting and pretend and roles. Meanwhile, the Aries element in our personae made us bold and passionate performers who went after what we want.

So there we were, Kuya Philip Salvador, maybe in his 20s at that time and nine-year old me, waiting for famous director LINO BROCKA’S assistant director to say, “Action!” I was supposed to call out, “Ate Cristy! Ate Cristy!” while crossing the smelly “estero” with Philip who was walking gingerly behind me, his film character unused to our Tondo slums. Ate Cristy is the young and sexy upcoming actress Amy Austria whom Kuya Lino was building up at that time besides Philip. My mother, AIDA, was playing my mother in this film: “JAGUAR,” which was a play on the word “guardia.” Philip played a poor and desperate security guard in this movie, which, like many other LINO BROCKA films, portrayed economic inequalities and social injustice in Philippine society. Kuya Lino’s protest films, many of which my mother starred in even in just small support roles, ran against the grain of the Philippine martial law era ethos when opposition to the government was quashed and discouraged. DISSOLVE TO –

Critically acclaimed film director ISHMAEL BERNAL talks in a gentle, low voice to his cinematographer while gesturing animatedly about the angles and lighting that he requires. Meanwhile my mother AIDA, playing one of the prostitutes in some godforsaken dump in the underbelly of Ermita, chats with her fellow “putachings” as she fans herself furiously with her abaca “pamaypay” as she sweats against the bright and burning kleig lights. Then the AD says Action and Mom gets in character and delivers her lines flawlessly. No asking what the hell her bloody motivation is. She is so damn good. This is Ishmael Bernal’s filmic ode originally titled “Manila By Night.” When the repressive Philippine government raised a ruckus, this landmark movie was alternately referred to as “City After Dark.” DISSOLVE TO –

In here, AIDA CARMONA plays a maid, your ordinary “chimay, “utusan.” Not to give the plot away, though, because even if she’s just a lowly house-servant in this film, she turns out to be the only one who gets out of this household-based storyline alive. I am of course talking about the seminal film “Kisapmata” by brilliant

director MIKE DE LEON. One has to see this film to believe it but it’s not for the faint of heart. CUT TO-

There you have it. Brief filmic sequences from my mother’s actress life. She always said, looking back, that she was proud to have been directed on film by three of the BEST and MOST PRODIGIOUS DIRECTORS of her time: the AWARD WINNING, SOCIALLY RELEVANT ARTIST-DIRECTORS LINO BROCKA, ISHMAEL BERNAL, and MIKE DE LEON. We, her children, are truly proud of her legacy and bravely carry on.

It’s been a while…

Greetings, loyal followers!

Here are some updates in my so-called life:

1. I decided to drop my Stargazer Bles Facebook page where I post my weekly horoscope readings & transact with my astrology/tarot/oracle reading clients. You see, I just went through an emotional crisis & for a while I felt that I couldn’t keep going anymore. Thankfully, I am so over that now. I may not do the weekly horoscopes anymore but I plan to post astrology-related morsels right here in the future. Stay tuned for those.

2. I just received my Bachelor’s degree in Metaphysical Sciences (B. Msc.) from the University of Metaphysical Sciences (UMS). This is a dream come true for me: to receive an official degree in a field I’ve been “dabbling in” for most of my life. I plan to continue into the Master’s & Doctoral levels. Studying at the UMS opened my vistas to brave new worlds! Stay tuned.

3. My husband & I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary last February 28. Actually we were married on a leap year, February 29, 2016 – following the sugggestion of my excellent & compassionate astrologer-colleague Ms. Linea Van Horn. Leandro & I got married in our 40s (first marriage, & hopefully the last, for both). However, I understand that people are marrying right & left quite late in the game as well, so we really are part of a growing trend, it seems. I will certainly stay tuned for developments on this one.

4. I will soon be publishing a book with Balboa Press called The Filipino Diwata Oracle. Details to follow soon. All I can say at this point is: Shoot, I’m sooo excited about this!!!

There you go. Brief updates. Please leave a Like or Comment if you feel moved to do so. Talk to you soon.
